After working for 16 years to bring back a strong Sojourner line and breeding IN and Line breeding, We felt strongly that it was time to carefully breed out.  In our search we found the Cooks who have been breeding AKC collies with the Old Collie looks and strengths.  Fiona is a wonderful farm collie with the old collie looks and character. I am very impressed with her.  She was breed on a Farm, and being raised on a farm.  She brings in Excellent Herding.  She very quickly picked up on the fact that the cows are to stay OFF the fence. She shows no fear, yet has plenty of smarts of when to go for it and when to stop. She enjoys herding whatever she can, but at the same time can be called off. She can be very happy just lying around, but be up in an instant taking care of things. With her nose to the ground, she is learning to hunt down varmints showing off her desire to HUNT. Fiona also has a very sweet side of her and biddable. From the beginning, she has always been very careful with my grandson. And they have a special connection. She likes being with us and stays close to us and our back porch. She is very motherly and loyal with a watchful attitude towards my grandson and puppies. She is learning to care for the chickens. Very smart, biddable, loving, loyal. Her coat is of good length and not long with a good undercoat in winter.    March 2021

Fiona is turning out to be a great dog.  I was impressed by her the other day.  She was laying on our back porch relaxing, when she noticed some cows getting close to our back fence. She jumped up ran out a little bit, stopped, looked at the cows just waiting to see what they were going to do. Then she sat down and watched some more, waiting to see if the cows were going to get closer to the fence.  They moved on and didn't come close to the fence, which intern made her happy. So she got back up and came back to the back porch to finish her "napping".  To me it shows she has brains to know what she is suppose to do and when to do it.  I didn't tell her a thing.  I was sitting inside observing her actions. When we retired from breeding, Fiona was rehomed to Cypher Farms.  They plan to breed her to 4J Acres Roy
