Mayflower litter July 15,2020- 3 males & 3 females
In honor of my ancestors, who made the voyage 400 years ago on the Mayflower, to seek a foreign land where they could raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, even if it meant enduring the perils of a grueling, lengthy voyage, risking the possibility of a hostile welcome and forging an arduous new beginning.
John Tilly (1571-1621) & Joan Hurst Tilly(1567-1621): They died that first winter.
John Howland (1591-1673), was the thirteenth of the 41 "principal" men to sign the Mayflower Compact. During a violent storm he was thrown into the sea, but kept hold of a top-sail that hung overboard until he was hauled up into the ship and saved. Secretary to Gov. John Carver.
Elizabeth Tilley (1607-1687), who married John Howland and had 10 children that survived infancy.
Jabez Howland (1644-1711) son of John & Elizabeth Tilley.
