4 J Acres Gabby (from Sojourner Farm)

When we first started working with Gabby in 2003 we were so impressed with him giving us the desire to to breed him. Over the years we have learned that there really was something very special about the Sojourner dogs breed by Sandra Niedrauer. It became a strong goal of mine to bring back and try to recreate those special dogs. As time has gone on we have been able to work on getting the last three male Sojourner line together that goes back to McDuffie's Ole Shep. I personally knew Sojourner Jacob. Have his son, Gabby. I also new Sojourner Jacob Junior and actually kept him on my property for a while. I am very grateful that I was able to get a daughter from Heigland Thiestle Diego. In 2014, I realized that it really was possible to pull theses three dogs back. Over the years I have been mentored by Sandra Niedrauer from Sojourner Farm. I have also used the book by Guy Gregory Ormiston: New Guide to Breeding Old Fashioned Working Dogs.
Our Gabby is a foundation dog in the Scotch Collie Org. His father, Sojourner’s Jacob, is grandson to Dunrovin’s Ole Shep. Gabby's picture was in the May/June 2011 issue of Countryside Magazine.
His brother Diego, one litter later, was featured in the Spring 2012 issue of Heirloom Gardener.
Dunrovin’s Ole Shep lives on through the lines of these dogs.
Sandy (OTSC-F-36) is a daughter to Gabby (OTSC -F-19). Gabby’s line lives on through 4JAcres Laddie (Sandy’s son) at Six Pense Farms and 4J Acres Lady Rose Sojourner.

4 J Acres Heather (from Heiland Thistle Kennel)
Heather is a daughter to Hieghland Thistle Diego (OTSC -F-20). We crossed Heather to 4 J Acres Clancy to get Daisy. Daisy will carry on the Diego line. Clancy is a special dog whose mother came from New Zealand.

In 2016 we crossed 4JAcres Daisy with 4JAcres Laddie in order to bring the Gabby and Diego line together. Out of this we kept 4JAcres Lady Rose Sojourner. Her line carries the great names of: Gracehaven's Angus, 4J Gabby, Heiland Thistle's Diego, Sojourner Jacob who is the great grandson of Ole Shep.

Our present stud dog, 4JAcres Sojourner Oscar, is out of Sojourner’s Pepper who is the daughter of Sojourner’s Jacob Junior. Also, litter mate to Diego. Diego is also a great grandson of Ole Shep. It is my goal to preserve the Dunrovine line through the Sojourner’s Jacob line. When I cross Lady Rose (Gabby & Diego) with Oscar (Sojourner Jacob Junior) I bring those three very old lines together to create a strong Sojourner Jacob/ Ole Shep family tree as mentioned by Guy Ormiston. These are dogs that I have personally met and have enjoyed getting to know over the past 17 years. I believe that these dogs have all the true character/temperaments of the old Scotch Collie.
